Course Provider
IEA is the only Approved Course Provider (ACP) appointed by the Council for Estate Agencies (CEA) to conduct the Certificate Course in Marketing of Foreign Properties (CCMFP).
Course Schedule
CCMFP is CEA-recommended course for registered salespersons who seek to upgrade their knowledge and expertise in marketing and dealing of foreign properties. The course is conducted over a period of 5 days (3 hours each day) and 90-minute assessment during the week.
Course Fees
Full: SGD680.00 (inclusive of assessment). Eligible to claim UTAP (by NTUC) and SkillsFuture Credit.
Course Syllabus
The Examination Syllabus will incorporate all relevant local laws, rules, regulations, including all Practice Service Manuals (PSM) and Practice Guidelines (PG) governing real estate agency work and practices when marketing foreign properties in Singapore. Course content includes Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, India, China, Japan, New Zealand, Australia and United Kingdom.
Course Objectives
The objectives are to ensure that Real Estate Salespersons in Singapore who aspire to marketing foreign properties meet the following criteria or requirements:
Understand and possess relevant knowledge and adhering to CEA’s Practice Guidelines For Estate Agents and Salespersons for marketing foreign properties in Singapore.
Able to apply the underpinning knowledge and skillsets required in marketing foreign properties adhering to pertinent due diligence required by law.
Able to apply the professional code of ethics, relevant laws, regulations in estate agency work and practices to uphold the professional standards of Salespersons.
Be well-informed about the prevailing market information and risks pertaining to foreign properties and the relevant respective government policies & regulations when marketing such foreign properties which includes the following:
a) Conduct real estate businesses whilst adapting to the relevant social, cultural, religious, economic, political and geographical characteristics of major countries in the Asia Pacific region.
b) Advise purchasers on the importance and different characteristics of respective Asia Pacific markets, taking into consideration the different laws and real estate brokerage practices.
c) Identify different approaches, appropriate techniques suitable to promote or market foreign properties and professional services.
d) Familiarise with foreign currency, including how to compute currency conversion relating to property transactions, etc.
e) Identify the different reasons behind the clients' foreign property purchases; for example, investments, rental yields, capital appreciation, future retirement home, accommodation for children studying overseas, better living standards, etc.
Advantages Upon Graduation
Upon completing the course and passing the assessment, CCMFP graduates will be certified and be entitled to use
Cert-In-Marketing Of Foreign Properties or Cert-In-MFP
in their title to showcase and demonstrate their certified knowledge and skillsets to gain their clients' trust, a clear edge over those other real estate salespersons who have yet to certify themselves in marketing of foreign properties.
CCMFP graduates are further invited to add themselves to our telegram chatgroups to keep themselves abreast of latest updates and insights on foreign property markets as well as be notified of upcoming foreign property launches/ showcases.
Course Trainers
Our trainers are subject matter experts who are drilled in learner-centric training techniques:
Chris Koh has more than 30 years of experience in the real estate industry under his belt. A respectable veteran, his views and comments are often quoted in the media. Chris is passionate about education and teaching and holds an Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment. He is a trainer for RES, CCMFP, and CPD courses. Apart from teaching, Chris also owns his own real estate consultancy firm, Chris International.
Jeff Foo is a property industry veteran with over 42 years of experience under his belt. He began his real estate career in 1980 and was granted a licence to found his realty agency in 1984. He is a member of the National Association of REALTORS® and is a Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS) instructor. Jeff was previously the President IEA council for several years, and he has been re-elected as IEA Honorary Secretary to steward IEA's growth for 2022-2024.
Peter Koh is the KEO of HJ Real Estate. He is a property industry veteran with over 25 years of experience. He specializes in the marketing of Japanese properties and often conducts in-housing training for his own agency as well as for others. Peter is also the 1st Vice-President of the IEA Council (2022-2024).
Sam Ong, a veteran of the property industry, has more than 20 years of experience in foreign property acquisition and development. After settling back in Singapore, he became actively involved in international residential sales. Besides being the trainer for IEA in CPD and CCMFP courses, Sam is the current elected IEA Council President chartering IEA's growth in supporting its members for 2022-2024.
